The Good on Everything Sauce

We had the traditional turkey, ham & rib roast for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. Family came to visit and it was bedlam. But it was a wonderful holiday season.

But... turkey and dressing can get old, even though it's one of my favorite meals. I found a recipe online and changed a few things due to what was in my pantry. We all enjoyed it. And the best part, it's good on any kind of meat except maybe seafood. We've had it on turkey, prime rib, & venison.

Hope your family enjoys it as much as we did.

Good on Everything Sauce

8 oz sliced cremini mushrooms
8 oz diced yellow onion
6-8 minced garlic cloves
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup minced Gorgonzola or blue cheese of your choice.
1 big glob of sour cream
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
EVOO
Parsley

Slice & dice everything & set aside. Drizzle EVOOO in skillet, saute onions & mushrooms until golden. Add garlic & stir. Add HWC, cheese, salt, pepper and stir until melted. Add sour cream, stir and serve. Garnish with the parsley--only for looks, doesn't really affect the flavor.

I sauteed leftover turkey in EVOO, removed from pan, then made the sauce in the drippings from the meat. Served over Yukon gold mashed potatoes.

Delicious. Reheats well.
